$1 million awaits players in special MrBeast Fortnite challenge
Epic Games has announced the MrBeast’s Extreme Survival Challenge. The pop-up event is a part of a collaboration with renowned YouTube figure Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson. Players have a chance to win a $1 million grand prize by participating in the event.
This challenge takes place on a new island, which will be launched by Epic on December 13. Players can learn about the island until December 17, when the challenge starts. To find this island, players can use the Discover menu or enter the island code 7990-6907-8565. Players only have a limited time window on Saturday to complete the challenge, from 12 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET.
To win the game, players must gather as many points as possible by finishing challenges, avoiding obstacles and collecting coins. Every player can join the challenge multiple times, and the game will use the highest score for the final ranking. Epic also offers an exclusive in-game item, the Beast Brella Umbrella, for the top 100,000 players in the competition.
There are some rules for this challenge. Each participant should activate two-factor authentication and have a verified Epic account. This challenge is only available for players of Level 15 or higher. Additionally, players in Russia and Turkey cannot win the cash prize.
Another event introduced as a part of the Epic-MrBeast collaboration is Extreme Survival Quests, which kicks off on December 13. Players can head to Challenge island to find two quests. The first Quest offers players the MrBeast Gaming Spray, while the second offers the MrBeast Survival Games Loading Screen. These quests will end on January 4.
Players can purchase MrBeast in-game products — including the MrBeast6000 Outfit, Prize Package Back Bling and Beast Backdrop Wrap — from Fortnite’s shop. True to MrBeast’s extravagant content, Fortnite players can also celebrate Eliminations with a cash shower with the new Beast Blastin’ Emote.
Launched in 2017, Fortnite is one of the most popular battle royale games in the world. Epic has often engaged with high-profile influencers in the past. The MrBeast challenge is a way for Epic to start the latest Fortnite chapter, Chapter 4 Season 1, with a bang.
Epic initially announced the collaboration with MrBeast during FNCS Invitational 2022 in November, but the developer did not elaborate details of the event. Shortly after, the YouTuber confirmed the partnership via Twitter.
In addition to MrBeast, Epic plans to add other influential figures to the new chapter, including NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. My Hero Academia character Deku is also coming to Chapter 4.
Improvements in Fortnite’s new chapter
Epic has introduced significant improvements to enhance the game-playing experience in the new chapter. The developer now uses Unreal Engine 5.1 for its graphics, which enables the game to render smoothly.
Chapter 4 also introduces improvements in movements such as mantling. In the previous chapters, players could lose momentum when performing this move and had to restart the sprint. In the new chapter, players can hurdle over or onto obstacles while sprinting. This maneuver allows players to attack enemies in hiding sneakily.
Epic has also designed an account type for underage players. Young players must obtain their parent’s consent to access certain features in Fortnite.
