FaZe narrowly escapes defeat

On the third day of the second week, the Atlanta FaZe played against the New York Subliners in a back-and-forth match.

The Subliners dominated their first match on the Breenbergh Hotel (Hardpoint) map. Preston “Priestahh” Greiner and Paco “Hydra” Rusiewiez performed well, scoring 29 and 28 kills, with 1.71 and 1.65 K/D, respectively. The Subliners won the map 250-150.

In the second match, FaZe retaliated to claim a 6-4 win on Al Bagra Fortress (Search and Destroy). FaZe’s Tiny Terrors duo Chris “Simp” Lehr and Tyler “aBeZy” Pharris recorded 10 and 11 kills, respectively.

In the third match on the Breenbergh Hotel (Control) map, FaZe broke the series tie by winning 3-2. Simp started slow on this map but eventually finished the match with 31 kills, while aBeZy scored a whopping 34 kills.

Their fourth match was on Zarqwa Hydroelectric (Hardpoint). Once again, the odds were in the Subliners’ favor. Priestahh snagged 31 kills with a 2.82 K/D, resulting in the Subliners winning 250-96. Following this match, the Subliners forced a fifth game against FaZe.

Ravens defeat Legion despite constantly changing roster

The Ravens defeated the Las Vegas Legion despite the team having changed its roster every week in the build-up to the showdown.

The teams first met on the Mercado Las Almas (Hardpoint) map, with the Ravens winning by 250-202, thanks to the outstanding performance of Matthew “Skrapz” Marshall. He scored 30 kills with 2.14 K/D in this first match. The Legion was able to fight back in the second match, claiming a 6-2 win on Mercado (Search and Destroy).

In the third match, they took on the Breenbergh Hotel (Control) map, with the Ravens winning by 3-1. Once again, Skrapz performed admirably, claiming 27 kills and a 1.50 K/D ratio. He continued this streak on the fourth map, Zarqwa Hydroelectric (Hardpoint), scoring 29 kills and 1.71 K/D, ending the series with the Ravens winning 3-1.

The CLD Major 2 Qualifiers will continue on Friday. It will open with three matches, pitting the Ravens against the Florida Mutineers, the Subliners against the Legion and FaZe against the Guerrillas.

All 12 CDL teams will play in Major II in Boston from February 2 to February 5.
