CD Projekt RED announces livestream event, possible updates on Cyberpunk

Polish video game developer CD Projekt RED has announced its second REDstreams, a livestream event streaming live on the developer’s Twitch account on February 15, 2022.

“So, choom, how ’bout a date? We’ll talk things, y’know. You’re in? Preem! Let’s meet tomorrow, Feb 15th, at 4PM CET, at the usual place: CD PROJEKT RED Twitch channel. See you there!” CD Projekt RED website reads.

The livestream event is rumored that the company is set to announce Cyberpunk 2077’s release date for both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions.

What to expect

The announcement for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt were delayed back in October 2021 for the upgrade’s release on the platforms mentioned above. Cyberpunk 2077 in particular was spotted with an alternate online cover in the early 2022 listing for PS5.

The livestream event could also mark a major update for Cyberpunk 2077 as CD Projekt RED has been spending time working on the game since it was released. However, there are still no details provided about this yet.

In addition, the livestream event will most likely be a discussion about the game updated for current-gen consoles, the next major updates about the game and when its first expansion is set for release.

CD Projekt RED new two titles, lesson from Cyberpunk

https://twitter.com/PlaystationSize/status/1487709851505602562CD Projekt RED has also confirmed earlier this month that they are shifting resources to start working on two unannounced triple-A titles simultaneously. CEO Adam Kiciński revealed how the developer will embrace new strategies and its ambitious plan to create two triple-A games.

“The simultaneous implementation of two AAA projects is our strategic goal for this year,” Kiciński says in the announcement. “An element that is to significantly support this process is […] a more efficient way to control the progress of a given product development thanks to working in the agile methodology. In addition, we intend to hire new, talented people to support our development teams.”

But, surely the developer will not leave fans hanging with Cyberpunk 2077 after the game’s roller-coaster run filled with performance issues. Kiciński said that Cyberpunk 2077 taught the company a lot and will ensure more autonomy for the developer team in taking decisions as well as initiatives.

“We are trying to ensure that the team leaders in our group have more autonomy in making decisions and initiatives. Of course, we constantly observe industry trends and events so as not to ‘fall out of circulation,'” Kiciński added.

“Cyberpunk taught us a lot. It was an impulse and motivation for changes [that] will make us perform better in the future.”

Cyberpunk 2077, performance issues

Cyberpunk 20777 is a first-person action RPG video game released back in December 2020 for PS4, PC and Xbox One. However, the game left players disappointed following performance issues on consoles and has been heavily criticized by many critics.

Since then, developer CD Projekt RED has been allocating most of its time fixing Cyberpunk 2077 and trying to regain the market’s trust. As the developers continue patching up, they still believe that Cyberpunk 2077 will be considered a good game in the long run.

CD Projekt Red is best known by many for its work in the award-winning video game title The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
