Counter Strike GO FACEIT Major London Quarterfinals scheduled this week

The 13th Counter Strike Global Offensive Major Championship sponsored by Valve started at the beginning of the month. On September 5th, the best CS:GO teams converged to the nation’s capital for the FACEIT Major: London 2018. This tournament has a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million and it uses the same team format as last year.

The first two weeks were reserved for the New Challengers and New Legends phases, which set the stage for the New Champions Stage starting on September 20th.

The bottom 8 teams went home empty-handed, but the ones who made it to the top 16 got consolation prizes of $8750.

Eight more teams are still in the race for the big money, with the winner to receive $500,000, while the runner-up is expected to settle for $150,000.

The Buchholz system was used to seed teams for the quarterfinals, which conclude on September 23rd and will use a single elimination bracket format.

Odds don’t reflect new Legends Stage results

Counter Strike Global Offensive fans and punters who want to bet on the quarterfinals will be a bit surprised by the odds. compLexity Gaming have won the previous stage without dropping a match and lost a single game at the FACEIT Major London tournament. Even so, they get odds of 17/10 at Betway to defeat MiBR who lost twice and are regarded as favourites with odds of 1/2.

The odds are even more lopsided when we look at the match between BIG and Natus Vincere who were tied for the fourth place. They even had the same Round Difference of +19 and Esportsbetting.com still regards Natus Vincere as the favourites to prevail. The odds of 2/5 reflect this reality, while a victory on BIG to qualify to the semifinals is rewarded with odds of 2/1.

The big guns come out firing on Sept. 21st

Astralis and Team Liquid are the big favourites to win the Counter Strike GO FACEIT Major London, with odds revolving around 2/1 at Bet-At-Home. The latter played the first quarterfinals scheduled on September 21 against HellRaisers and they are regarded as overwhelming favourites to win. Punters can only expect odds of 2/10 at Arcanebet if they plan on supporting them, after Team Liquid have won all six matches played so far. HellRaisers clawed their way to the quarterfinals and are given odds of 7/2.

The last match of the quarterfinals starts in the evening, around 8 PM and pits Astralis against FaZe Clan. Once again, the results recorded throughout the tournaments don’t seem to reflect the odds of 2/5 offered by GG.bet on Astralis. Savvy punters understand the reasoning behind the decision to underprice the favourites, since they are the most successful Counter Strike Global Offensive team of 2018 so far. Those who trust FaZe Clan to cause an upset can expect odds of 2/1 at this bookmaker.
