Fortnite partners with Goat Simulator 3, launches exclusive skin
As if the Goat Simulator series is not absurd enough for the regular gamers, the new installment of the franchise has partnered with Epic Games’ hit battle royale shooter Fortnite to release a goat-themed cosmetics called “A Goat”.
The unlikely collaboration was confirmed in a trailer video released Thursday this week. Players interested in getting their hands on the skin may head straight to Fortnite, and it will be claimable to those who preorder or buy Goat Simulator 3 via the Epic Games Store.
The collaboration has been live since September 29, and it is reported that the promotion will go through until September 29, 2023. The “A Goat” skin will be made available for purchase with Fortnite’s currency V-Bucks in the game’s Shop by November 26, over a week after Goat Simulator 3’s November 17 release date.
“Don’t want Goat Simulator 3 but do want ‘A Goat’ in Fortnite? Great news, the ‘A Goat’ Outfit also pops up for sale in the Item Shop in Fortnite on Nov. 26, 2022. So everyone will have a chance to trot through the grassy plains as a mayhem-fueled bovine,” Epic Games wrote.
Details on ‘A Goat’ skin, how to get it
As cited above, the only way to get the “A Goat” skin is by preordering or buying the upcoming Goat Simulator 3 on the Epic Games Store. The previous release of the game, Goat Simulator, is available on Steam, but it remains to be seen whether the new title would branch out to the Valve-owned digital gaming store.
Similar to other legendary skins in Fortnite, it is highly likely that Goat Simulator 3 would not only be made available for purchase with V-Bucks but also could be bundled up with a few other cosmetics, either a new harvesting tool or glider.
Before purchasing Goat Simulator 3 on the Epic Games Store, it is best to ensure that the account used is associated with Fortnite. Otherwise, the skin will not be activated. Also, players will only need to purchase any version of Goat Simulator 3 to obtain the skin.
“Anyone who purchases Goat Simulator 3 on the Epic Games Store by 11:59 p.m. ET on Sept. 29, 2023, gets a Fortnite Outfit inspired by Pilgor, star of the Goat Simulator games,” wrote Epic Games.
“Once the game is purchased, players just need to log into Fortnite with the same Epic Games account used to purchase Goat Simulator 3, and ‘A Goat’ will be automatically added to their Fortnite Locker, which always has enough ruminant for new Outfits.”
Discussing bringing the series’ main character Pilgor to Fortnite, Coffee Stain North lead artist Elin Hamberg said Pilgor was given an entirely different look that is still faithful to the original design. The twist here lies that Pilgor is now “a questionably named half goat/half human.”
“Now we know Goat Simulator 3’s Pilgor looks different in her ‘A Goat’ Fortnite form, but our signature approach to hyperrealism simply didn’t fit in this bright and colorful game,” Hamberg said.
“Her arrival in this new world meant giving her a Fortnite twist, and muscles. If the thought of transforming into a questionably named, half goat/half human hybrid rocking a ragdoll print crop top is still your thing – live your best life. We won’t judge.”
