How to enter NBA 2K23’s MyTEAM Tournament for chance to win $500,000

NBA 2K23 is gearing up for the MyTEAM Tournament, which offers a total of $500,000 in prize money. The event, comprising two NBA 2K23 MyTEAM Unlimited Tournaments, is scheduled to start in the coming months.

The tournament will feature two tracks for console players. Track 1 is reserved for current-gen consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox), while Track 2 is for owners of next-gen consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox X/S). Below is how to participate in the tournament.

Requirements

Players in the United States, excluding “AZ, CT, MD, and ND”, are eligible for entry. Aside from the U.S., players in almost 30 countries are also allowed to participate. These countries are Australia, Canada (excluding Quebec), Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Greater China, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, and Turkey.

Those residing outside the countries mentioned above are not eligible for entry. Before registering, players must first reach the Emerald Tier in the game during each season of GameDays, the first phase of the competition on both tracks. GameDays will feature four Seasons—on October 15, November 26, January 7, and February 18.

Upon reaching Emerald, players can join GameDays by selecting one of the four dates in the in-game Tournament menu. Players will have a total of four entries and must achieve the highest score over other participants before the total score is locked on each GameDay. The score will be finalized based on the players’ roster quality and in-game performance.

On each Season of GameDays, there will be four highest scoring participants of each console from both tracks. Sixteen players in total will compete in the tournament for one Track. All in all, 64 players will be qualifying throughout all GameDays. All players are required to play online and have a console-specific ID and subscriptions (Gamertag and Gold Service for Xbox and PSN ID and PS Plus for PlayStation).

Players are advised to use the same console throughout the tournament. However, in the final, they will play on either PlayStation 4 or 5. In each bracket, a winner will be named a finalist, and the Xbox finalist will play the PlayStation finalist. The champion of the Unlimited Tournament will win $200,000, while runner-ups will take home $50,000.

The finals of both tracks are scheduled to be held live on March 18 next year “at an onsite location”.

How to apply

To apply for the Unlimited Tournament, players must set up their franchise in MyTEAM mode. After signing up or logging in to their 2K account, players will have to select MyTEAM from the main menu.

Once the game launches the MyTEAM mode, players will play a Triple Threat game with three starter pack players. Then, the game will ask players to choose one of the three cards. After that, players will head to their Starter Kit, finish their first lineup, and pick a team name. Next, players will play a Clutch Time game and choose their coach, arena, court logo, and uniform.
