Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to join Fortnite
Epic Games is adding National Football League superstar and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to the world of Fortnite. He is the first NFL player to join the Fortnite Icon Series, which will be available on Wednesday.
Mahomes is joining the ranks of sports icons such as LeBron James, soccer champions Harry Kane, Neymar Jr., Marco Reus, tennis player Naomi Osaka, and Olympian Chloe Kim to be featured in a non-sports game.
Epic Games has designed three different styles for him. The default is called the Ready for Practice Style, featuring Mahomes in his standard casual uniform, and a sleek red hoodie with his initials in the shape of a gladiator helmet.
The Gladiator Mindset Style incorporates shades, a headband, and an enhanced arm. The Gameday Gladiator, which consists of a gladiator-inspired visor, are two Gladiator-themed outfits and accessories.
The Saucy Style was inspired by his famous commercial in which he slathered ketchup on steak. In this skin, he is dressed in a sauce-red suit with ketchup bottle lapels.
Along with the skin, Mahomes will receive the Gridiron Gladiator Back Bling (added with the Outfit), Snap Axes Pickaxe (glows red when swung), Endzone Elite Wrap, and Showtime Emote.
How to get Mahomes skin
The Mahomes bundle will be available in the Item Shop for purchase at the Fortnite Store on Wednesday, August 24, at 8 p.m. ET. There have yet to be pricing details, but Mahomes’ bundle should cost around $20.
Players who want to get this skin for free can enter the Patrick Mahomes Cup, a Zero Build Squads tournament, on August 23. By competing in the event with friends, players can get the Patrick Mahomes’ Outfit and the Gridiron Gladiator Back Bling. The specific times for the event can be found in-game under the Compete tab.
Fortnite players who enter the cup have only ten matches to prove their worth and earn points toward unlocking the skin. The following is the match placement information:

Players will have three hours to compete in the cup, as in the past, and can play up to ten matches. With only eight points, Fortnite players can unlock the Secret Sauce Emoticon.
The emphasis of the tournament is survival. To win, players must prioritize getting as high a ranking as possible. Given that eliminations only count for one point, players should optimize strategy over kills.
Players might want to land far away from the bus with their squad at the start to avoid enemies and collect more loot.
Players will need to pay close attention to the storm and move quickly to the safe zone. Players will definitely want mobility items such as Shockwave Grenades for the final circles.
However, players must have two-factor authentication enabled on their Epic account and be level 50 or higher before entering the tournament. If the conditions are not met, players will be unable to participate.
