KRAFTON announces PUBG Nations Cup 2022
South Korean online game company KRAFTON has announced the return of PUBG international competition following a two-year hiatus called PUBG Nations Cup 2022 which will be held in South East Asia.
Bangkok, Thailand has been selected as the host for four days from June 16 to 19. A total of 16 teams will compete to win a $500,000 prize pool with the second and third place will get $58,000 and $50,000, respectively. Krafton has also disclosed that the PUBG Nations Cup 2022 prize pool would be partially funded by 30% of the revenue from in-game purchases.
The last PUBG tournament was the PUBG Global Championship 2019 in Los Angeles and Oakland, California before the COVID-19 outbreak. The 2019 championship had the total prize pool (incl. PGC sales) reach $4,000,000 USD with Gen E Esports being crowned champions.
PUBG Nations Cup 2022: Schedule, venue
The competitions will start at 7:00 EDT and the tournament itself is expected to have five matches per day. Teams will participate in 20 matches on Erangel and Miramar.
The format for PUBG Nations Cup 2022 will use the Global Point Rule, meaning it will combine elimination points and placement points.
For the venue, the competition will be held at TRUE ICON Hall, ICONSIAM 7th floor near Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, Thailand. Even though the venue can host a maximum of 1,200 people, the event will be following Thailand’s public health policy.

“Fans will be able to enter the arena from 16:00 and enjoy pre-match events before the main match starting at 18:00,” PUBG announced in a released statement.
“Don’t miss the chance not only to see your favorite national teams and players up close but also to directly interact with them via on-site events! Make sure to grab a seat at PNC 2022, watch exciting matches get your hands full with PUBG merch and giveaways!”
