CS_Summit 6 Format and Prizes

The qualifiers are already underway, but the competition begins on June 24 with the group stage. Over the course of five days, players will compete for a playoffs berth, in best-of-three series. They will be divided into groups of four teams and use a standard GSL four double-elimination format. The most successful teams will advance to the playoffs which begin on June 29 and conclude on July 5. During this stage of the competition, matches are played in a double-elimination bracket; all of them will require up to three matches to determine the winner, while the Grand Final is a best-of-five series.

The tournament has a guaranteed prize pool of $200,000 which will be divided among the most successful teams. Beyond the Summit is the top Regional Major Ranking Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event in North America and Europe this summer. The winner will walk away with the lion’s share of $34,000 and 2000 RMR points, while the runner-up will have to settle for $22,000 and 1875 points. The other teams who qualify for the playoffs will also receive hefty paychecks and RMR points.

In North America, Team Liquid and Evil Geniuses are the perennial favourites and they are likely to make a deep run in the tournament. Their strongest contenders from the region are the guys at Furia and Gen.G, which have caused them plenty of headaches in the past and can defeat anyone on a good day. On the European front things are every bit as competitive, with FaZe Clan and G2 expected to push opponents into a corner right from the start and cruise to the finals. Mousesports and Vitality can’t be underestimated either and these teams usually benefit from higher than expected odds at bookmakers, including Betway, which makes them particularly tempting.
