Bet Live on the Dota 2 The International Group Stage
The International is not only the most important Dota 2 tournament, but also the best paying eSport competition in the world. In 2019, it is expected to set new milestones in regard to the net prizes awarded to participating teams. The tournament will take place in Shanghai, at the Mercedes-Benz Arena and it will bring together 18 of the best teams in the world. 12 of them have qualified through the Dota Pro Circuit, while the other 6 have booked a place here through regional qualifiers.
The preliminary stages of the Dota 2 have ended, with the open qualifiers starting on July 3 and the regional qualifiers begining on July 7. On August 15, the group stage begins and the 18 teams will be divided into two identical groups of nine squads each. The top four will advance to the Upper Bracket of the Main Event, while the next four will qualify to the Lower Bracket. Only the bottom placed teams will be eliminated, so most of those playing this week will advance to the next stage.
Rivalry Celebrates The International with an Exclusive Offer
The TI9 First Bet Free promotion at Rivalry begins on August 15 and concludes 10 days later on August 25. Anyone can participate by making a deposit of at least $25 and placing a bet of the same magnitude. If they win, players get to keep the profits, but if they fail, they will have a second chance, as the lost wager will be reimbursed. Each player qualifies for a single free bet and those who bet larger amounts will have to settle for the maximum reimbursement of $25.
Punters can deposit in US dollars or currency equivalent and still receive the bonus, as long as they abide by the rules of this promotion. Canceled, voided and rejected wagers don’t count, so players will only receive a free bet if their wagers are settled. The free bet is subject to wagering requirements, but players only have bet to this amount once to make it eligible for withdrawal. Rivalry players who participate in other campaigns will still be eligible for the TI9 First Bet Free promotion.
Team Liquid and Team Secret Play the Opening Matches
Team Secret is the main favorites to lift the trophy with odds of 5/2 at ArcaneBet, followed at a small distance by Vici Gaming and Team Liquid. All of them play on Thursday morning, with Team Liquid and Team Secret being involved in the first two games at the Dota 2 The International. Their opponents are fully aware of the sheer difficulty of beating the top seeds, but they won’t give up without a fight.
Team Secret play against Alliance in the first match and they get odds of 4/5 to win, as opposed to 6/1 for the underdogs. Players might be surprised to see TI9 betting tips suggesting a bet on the series to end undecided, but this is possible at the Dota 2 main event. The two teams lock horns twice and the odds of each to win a game currently stand at 3/2.
Team Liquid also benefit from exceptionally high odds of ¾ to defeat NewBee, which are tempting against a team priced at 100/1 to win the tournament. The opening matches are always difficult and that’s why the odds of 17/10 on a draw are worth considering. Their Chinese opponents will play against Team Secret a few hours later and this time they are even bigger underdogs. The main favorites only get odds of 1/2 to win the series, identical to those available on Team Liquid to defeat Chaos.

Virtus.Pro and PSG.LGD are the Dark Horses at the TI9
The Dota 2 The International has a reputation for producing unlikely champions, after underdogs have prevailed in the previous seasons. In 2019, some of the most tempting TI9 betting tips are centered on the teams credited with the fourth and fifth chance to lift the trophy. Virtus.Pro and PSG.LGD have greatly improved their performances in recent months and they’re both well positioned to qualify for the playoffs.
PSG.LGD play in Group A, alongside Team Liquid and Team Secret, so they need to win all the other matches to have a shot at reaching the winners brackets. On August 15, they play three games and they are favorites in all of them, but draws are all regarded as likely results. In the opening match they play against Chaos and Betway offers odds of 1/2 on them to win, followed by a match against Keep Gaming. They get at odds of 4/5 and we believe that punters who bet on PSG.LGD to win both will cash in. The most likely match to result in a draw today is the one against TNC where punters get odds of 11/10.
Virtus.Pro have the advantage of only playing twice on Thursday and on both occasions they are slight favorites to pick up all three points. At the time of writing, punters get even odds on them to win each of these games, with NiP and Royal Never Give Up being priced at 5/1. Virtus.Pro and PSG.LGD will not play against each other during the group stage, but we believe that they could meet in the playoffs.
The Dota 2 The International Playoffs Stars Next Week
The games played this week are simply setting the stage for the playoffs, which are set to begin in the second half of August. Punters should be able to bet a few days in advance, while the group stage is over and the elimination rounds begin. So far, no team has managed to win back-to-back tournaments, but OG will surely try to break the ice in 2019. Odds of 10/1 on them to win are surely worth a shot at small stakes, especially with them playing in the slightly weaker Group B.
