Terran Players are Big Favourites in Group A
Maru is the only player from Group A to have qualified to the stage of the competition, after winning his group. He is also the main favourite to win the trophy and in the opening match, he plays against Impact. This is the only Zerg player in this group and he had a hard time playing against Terrans, so the odds of 1/5 on Maru are justified. ArcaneBet currently offers odds of 3/1 on Impact to cause an early upset.
The other Terran player in Group A is Bunny and he’s expected to advance to the quarterfinals alongside Maru. He can make a first, important step on Friday in the match against Patience, given his excellent performance against Protoss opponents. The odds on him to win are slightly higher, currently standing at 3/10 with GG.bet, but they are likely to drop as kickoff draws near.
Mirror Matches Rock Group D on Saturday
Group D is the only one not to feature a Protoss player, with two Terrans and two Zergs fighting for the two places in the quarterfinals. In the opening round, punters will be able to bet on two mirror matches, as TY plays against Guminho and soO takes on Rogue. This is an exceptional group because all four players have advanced after winning their groups, so they’re undefeated in the Global StarCraft II League Code S
TY is favourite against Guminho in the all-Terran match and punters who place their bets early will cash in on odds of 3/5 at Betway. The same goes for the all-Zerg confrontation which appears almost too close to call, given the tremendous experience of both soO and Rogue. The same bookmaker offers odds of 3/5 on soO and even better value of 6/5 on Rogue.
A Treat for Starcraft BroodWar Fans on Sunday
The Afreeca Starleague Season 7 semifinals have produced two big surprises, as both Rain and Effort were eliminated. The Grand Final is scheduled for March 23 and it will pit Mini against Last, with the odds to be announced in the preceding week. Meanwhile, punters can bet on the epic match between Rain and Effort for the third place, which has the potential of being even more exciting than the final itself. Effort has won the last Afreeca Starleague and has also defeated Rain in the quarterfinals, so punters should take advantage of the odds of 3/5 offered by Rivalry on him to win. A Rain victory is priced at 6/5.
The Global StarCraft II League matches will be broadcasted in real-time on Twitch, so players can watch them live.
