LPL 2019 New Season Opening Round » Betting Predictions
The League of Legends team that has won the World Championship in 2018 came from the Chinese top division. Invictus Gaming have finished the regular season on the first place and they are among the top favourites to win the competition in 2019. Once again, 14 teams will compete for the trophy, divided into two identical groups of seven squads each. To ensure the fairness and balance of the championship, they are grouped based on tier and each team plays a total of 19 matches, in a best-of-three format. A new season starts next week and punters can already bet on the first 6 games spanning over the first 3 days.
Invictus Gaming Play in the First Game on Monday
The reigning champions play in the opening match against Totsports Gaming and not surprisingly, they are credited with the first chance by bet-at-home. Punters currently get odds of 1/2 on the favourites to prevail, but they can cross the threshold of even odds if they bet on a victory in straight matches. By comparison, the underdogs are priced at 3/2 to kickstart the new season with a major upset.
In the other game of the day, FunPlus Phoenix are even heavier favourites against Rogue Warriors. They have dominated the series last year and that’s why Betway only offers odds of 3/10 on them to prevail. Punters who seek the best return on investment and plan on backing the favourites should consider a wager on the 2-0 market. If Rogue Warriors win, those who bet on their victory are paid at 13/10.
EDward Gaming turn the Heat On Tuesday Morning
On the second day of the new LPL season, EDward Gaming play the first match and their fans are entitled to be optimistic. GG.bet currently offers odds of 1/4 on the former tier one team to start the new year with a victory. They play against SinoDragon who are no pushovers and get excellent odds of 17/10.
Arguably the most balanced game of the entire first phase of the new League of Legends season will pit Bilibili Gaming against LGD. This series is almost too difficult to call, with LGD being narrow favourites at odds of 3/4 offered by ArcaneBet. Their best-of-three series against Bilibili Gaming is also the most likely one to go the distance, with the underdogs getting odds of 11/10 at the same bookmaker.
Wednesday Brings the most Lopsided Series
The odds are already available to bet on Wednesday matches and once again Invictus Gaming are heavily favourites, this time against OMG. This is by far the most imbalanced series so far at the LPL, with the favourites getting odds of 1/10 at Rivalry, while their opponents are priced at 5/1 and odds are still rising.
Suning Gaming are also likely to kickstart the season on a positive note, as they play against Vici Gaming on Wednesday. Esportsbetting.com is currently offering some of the best odds available, but they still don’t exceed 1/7 on the favourites. Backing the underdogs at 4/1 is definitely the more tempting proposal.
