The winners of the League of Legends Summer Split have been decided worldwide at the end of highly contested playoffs. By winning this stage of the yearly competition, some teams have secured a place at the World Championship. There are still a couple of spots to be claimed and they will be settled at the end of this week, when the regional finals take place
KingZone DragonX Keep Dream alive in LCK Regional Finals
KingZone DragonX have sunk into near irrelevance this split, after an excellent performance in spring. They were credited with a second chance when they played in the first round of the regional finals midweek against the Afreeca Freeks. A brilliant performance in three games has set them out for success and they will now play against Sandbox Gaming on Thursday. Once again, they are credited with the second chance, even though they have dominated this matchup in the past.
Sandbox Gaming were disappointing in the playoffs, but they can still make amends, as they are given odds of 7/10 by ArcaneBet. Clutch Gaming has evolved immensely over the last couple of months and is widely credited with the first chance and odds of 3/10. For risk-averse punters, this is obviously the best choice for this match, even though the odds are not too high. It is also worth considering a bet on Clutch to prevail by three games to one, as FlyQuest is an aggressive team that can stun better opponents. On the other hand, the odds of the series going the distance are slim and a bet on five games is not a good idea.
MAD Team and Flash Wolves Seek Redemption in LMS Regional Finals
MAD Team and Flash Wolves used to be the best two teams in the LMS, but in 2019 they have turned into the championship’s biggest train wreck. The only way to make amends is to qualify for the League of Legends Worlds, through the LMS regional finals. These matches are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at 9 AM UK time and only MAD Team are favourites. That’s because they play against G Rex, a team that has had its fair share of troubles this season.
Pinnacle offers odds of 3/5 on MAD Team and 6/5 on G Rex, but the safest bet is on more than 3.5 games to be played. None of these teams is capable of winning in straight matches and this series has the potential of requiring five games. In the other semi final, Flash Wolves will try to cause an upset in the match they start as underdogs against HK Attitude. Flash Wolves are given odds of 17/10, while those who bet on the favourites will be paid at 2/5 in what we expect to be a one-sided match.
Fnatic and Schalke 04 Chase a Spot in the LEC Summer Playoffs Finals
Fnatic found the way to squander a 2-0 lead over G2 Esports and now will have to defeat Schalke 04, for a chance to avenge that failure. Origen and Splyce Take the Long Way to the Worlds 2019
Origen and Splyce will have to wait until next week to play for a spot at the Worlds 2019. The LEC regional finals begin on September 13 and the winner of the series will likely meet Fnatic and Schalke 04 in the next two rounds. They need to take it one step at a time and from the odds of 3/10 offered by Betway on Splyce, it is pretty obvious who the favourite is.
Origen have alternated positive results with disappointing streaks and they simply didn’t show enough strength to be trusted at this level, in spite of the tempting odds of 23/10. Splyce have crumbled under pressure in the series against Rogue and they will be hard tested again by the veterans. Having said this, we don’t expect them to do the same mistakes twice and trust them to advance to the second round.
