South Korean Teams are Favorites to Advance
Three teams from South Korea have qualified for the main event and two of them have reached the quarterfinals. Gen.G finished last in group B, with a single victory, a disappointing performance for the reigning champions. Meanwhile, Afreeca Freecs have staged an incredible comeback to win Group A and they will play against Cloud9 in the first quarter final. The match is scheduled for October 20 and the South Koreans are big favorites, with ArcaneBet offering odds of only 1/5 on them to triumph.

KT Rolster are regarded as the strongest team from South Korea and one of the two main favorites to win the League of Legends World Championship 2018. They will play in the second day of the quarterfinals and were unlucky to face the toughest opponent of this round. Invictus Gaming lost the tie-breaking match against Fnatic and as a result, they have finished second in Group D. At least on paper, they have the same win ratio as KT Rolster, but GG.bet clearly favours the South Koreans. They get odds of 3/10 to prevail, while punters who bet on Invictus Gaming to cause and offset will enjoy odds of 23/10.
China has the Most Teams in the Quarterfinals
All three Chinese teams have survived the group stage, but only one of them is expected to advance to the semifinals. As stated above, Invictus Gaming are the underdogs against KT Rolster, while Edward Gaming start with the second chance against Fnatic. The team has performed well during the group stage and was even able to win once against the Korean superstars. The prospect of facing the team from Europe shouldn’t be daunting, yet the odds clearly hint at a Fnatic victory. Esportsbetting.com prices a Fnatic win at 1/2, while punters who bet on Edward Gaming enjoy odds of 3/2, which is great value.
Royal Never Gave Up are the main favorites at the League of Legends World Championship 2018 and they were lucky to play against the weakest opponent at this stage. G2 barely qualified from Group A and don’t have a lot of experience in this stage, which explains why they are such big underdogs. Betway is willing to offer odds as high as 4/1 on the underdogs to triumph and 3/5 on them to win at least one match. By comparison, the same bookmaker offers odds of 13/20 on Royal Never Gave Up to prevail.
