Call of Duty launches personalized highlight reel for Warzone players
Activision has launched the Warzone Legacy highlight reel for Call of Duty Warzone players to celebrate the upcoming release of Call of Duty Warzone 2. Players can enter their Activision ID on the My Warzone Legacy website to retrieve their Legacy video.
Players can download and share their reels on social media until November 30. The videos showcase their achievements and best moments in the game, including their first match, favorite operators, falling deaths, stats and more.
“Memorialize your accomplishments (including falling deaths) with #MyWarzoneLegacy. How many did you get?” Call of Duty said on Twitter. “Claim your personalized video Here’s to all of my #Warzone matches, squads, and everything in between. Welcome to #MyWarzoneLegacy 🔥 How did you compare? Get your personalized video here: MyWarzoneLegacy.callofduty.com.”
Activision launched Warzone on March 2020. The game immediately became popular due to its diverse terrain and fast gameplay. However, two years have passed, and the game is nearing its end. The developer recently released its final season, Last Stand, as the team moved its attention to COD’s next title, Warzone 2.
After the release of Warzone 2, its prequel will not receive any Battlepasses or Season updates. However, the developer still plans on adding DLCs and quality-of-life improvements. There is also a rumor about the franchise planning to change its name to Warzone: Caldera or Warzone: Legacy.
Players cannot carry over progress to Warzone 2
Call of Duty Warzone 2 will launch on November 16. The game will be available on consoles and PC. However, players cannot carry over their progress in the original Warzone to Warzone 2. They will have to start from scratch and re-obtain all guns, skins and stats.
Warzone 2 will have many similarities with Modern Warfare 2 because they both use the same engine, mechanics and features.
“In order to fully deliver this state-of-the-art experience, Warzone 2.0 will feature new Modern Warfare 2 content and systems with brand new progression and inventories. Today’s Warzone will continue on as a separate experience that will include a continuation of player progression and inventories within that Warzone experience. We can’t wait to share more details soon,” Activision said.
Resurgence map to grace Warzone 2
Many Warzone players love smaller maps such as Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep that offer faster gameplay than the usual battle royal format. Apparently, Activision heard players’ wishes because Warzone 2 will have a new Resurgence map in 2023.
“EXCLUSIVE: Beenox & Toys for Bob to develop a Resurgence Map for Warzone 2.0 set to release in Mid 2023. Infinity Ward & Raven to help direct it with Infinity Ward leading the narrative & Raven consulting on gameplay ideas,” Call of Duty insider TheGhostofHope said on social media.
There is no further information regarding this new Resurgence map, but some have speculated that it will be related to Modern Warfare 2’s Las Almas region.
Activision reveals new Code of Conduct
In preparation for the release of Warzone 2, Activision revealed a new Code of Conduct for Call of Duty players. The code focuses on fighting against toxic behaviors, which are prevalent in competitive games.
It comprises three core values, namely to treat everyone with respect, compete with integrity and stay vigilant. Activision also emphasized its stance against cheating, saying that “competitive integrity is core to the Call of Duty experience.”
“We recognize battling toxicity will be an ongoing effort. We will continue to monitor our titles, address player-submitted reports, and expand our technology to combat toxic behavior,” Activision said.
