CS:GO BLAST Premier partners with DAZN Group to expand global broadcast

Leading global sports entertainment company DAZN Group has signed an agreement with BLAST on a media rights partnership for 2022. As a result of this partnership, BLAST Premier, the global Counter-Strike tournament, will gain a broader audience. Over 100 DAZN territories will have access to the series live and on-demand, including the United Kingdom, Japan, and the United States.

The BLAST Premier series is the world’s largest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament, hosting the world’s top players and teams. The seven BLAST Premier events throughout the year feature 32 of the world’s best teams competing for a combined $2,475,000 in prize money.

DAZN will broadcast the remaining five events of BLAST Premier for the remainder of the year, including the Spring, Fall, and World Finals. Those events will all be held in major arenas around the world in the coming months.

The Spring Final will be broadcast next week from June 15 to June 19. Lisbon’s Altice Arena, the largest indoor arena in Portugal and one of the biggest in Europe, will host the event.

“We’re thrilled to team up with one of the world’s biggest and most respected sports streaming services in DAZN,” said BLAST VP of distribution and programming Alexander Lewin in a press release.

“Our overarching aim is always to ensure BLAST Premier is available and accessible in as many regions around the world as possible, this partnership is helping us to achieve that goal with BLAST now broadcast in 154 territories and in 25 languages. Our partnership with DAZN in over 100 markets is testament to the current global demand for BLAST Premier and the high production quality.”

DAZN Group EVP Global Rights Strategy Tom Burrows added, “DAZN is committed to making a broad range of sports more accessible to an ever-increasing number of fans and this is a great opportunity to partner with BLAST Premier and broadcast the Counter-Strike tournament series on our platform.

“There is a fast-growing market for Esports and the series is a great fit for DAZN while we continue to expand our offering and become the ultimate sports destination platform for fans.”

The group stage comprises best-of-three matches. Only three teams will advance from each group. A single-elimination system will be used for the playoffs. All matches will be best-of-three.
