Tournament Format
This event will use the Playoffs format, and the 8 competing teams will go through a series of Bo3 matches in this double-elimination bracket. The Grand Finals will be a Bo5 match, and both finalists will qualify directly for the Funspark ULTI 2021.
Out of all the teams participating, 5 have been directly invited, while the other 3 come from the European and North American qualifiers. They are all fighting for a massive $250.000 prize pool, which will be distributed among all the participants.
Prize Pool
Let’s check how the tournament prize pool is divided.
- 1st – $150,000
- 2nd – $50,000
- 3rd – $15,000
- 4th – $15,000
- 5th-6th – $5,000
- 7th-8th – $5,000
Who should you bet on?
The five invited teams are all strong in their own rights, and as such, they have relatively equal chances of winning the event. Another strong contender is coming from the EU Qualifiers, and that’s HAVU Gaming. They have the potential to cause an upset, but seeing how they’ll be playing against Complexity in their opening match, it’s a slim chance.
We’ll quickly go over the four opening matchups and analyze the teams. Lastly, we’ll add in our own predictions.
Virtus.pro vs. ForZe
Props to forZe for winning the Group A during the Funspark ULTI 2020 – European Qualifiers. However, in this case, they are biting more than they can chew and we don’t see them overpowering Virtus.pro.
We expect the Russian giants to take a clean win against ForZe, and move forward where they’ll face either Complexity or HAVU.
Complexity vs. HAVU Gaming
Complexity are the favorites in this matchup, but HAVU is perfectly capable of causing an upset and taking a surprise win. Complexity will have to play it safe and not let their guard down, but overall, we expect them to win.
If you’re looking for a slightly risky bet, HAVU is a solid pick. With some luck, you might just win.
BIG vs. Extra Salt
This should be an easy win for BIG. The German powerhouse is looking superior in this matchup and Extra Salt would have to be really lucky to manage to overcome them. Then again, everything is possible with CSGO bets.
Evil Geniuses vs. Dignitas
This is an interesting matchup. On paper, Evil Geniuses looks stronger. Not only that, but these two squads faced off in the Playoffs during the recent Snow Sweet Snow #3, and Evil Geniuses won. However, it’s important to note that they won 2-1, with the last map going into overtime. For this reason, we believe Dignitas might be able to pull off a win here, so our vote goes to them.
