The Hearthstone Championship Tour 2018 comes to Singapore this Week
The Hearthstone Championship Tour returns to Singapore for another action-packed event, scheduled at the end of the week. This is the latest stop of the HCT and a part of the prestigious PVP Esports Championship, so it represents an important milestone for the tournaments of 2018. Those interested in attending, should pack their bags and head on to the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The competition is scheduled to take place over the course of three days, starting on October 5 and concluding on October 7. Action starts at 4 AM and concludes at 1 PM on the first day, and at 5 AM on the second and third days. Those who can’t afford to travel and prefer to watch the games online, can do it on the official Twitch channel. As the 2018 championship approaches its inevitable conclusion, the Singapore stop is one of the most exciting of the remaining events.

Tournament Format and Prize Pool
This is the sixth Tour Stop of HCT Tour Stop 2018 Season three and it will bring together 128 talented players. They will be competing for a share of the prize pool worth $15,000 and will also share some of the 191 HCT points. The format of the tournament doesn’t differ much from what was used in the previous stops of the championship, with four decks being used and the single ban.
All matches will be played in standard mode and conquest, with the winners to be decided at the end of a best-of-five series. The tournament begins with the group stage, where all 128 competitors will participate, since nobody is automatically qualified for the next stage. During this phase of the competition, there will be six rounds of Swiss play and 16 players will advance to the playoffs.

Cash Prizes and HCT Points Distribution
During the decisive stage of the Hearthstone Championship Tour Singapore the matches will also be played in a best-of-five format. Those who qualify for the playoffs will compete in a single elimination bracket and all the matches are scheduled for October 7. All players who have survived the group stage are guaranteed to receive a share of the prize pool. The lion’s share will go to the players on the podium, and those who qualify for the quarterfinals.
The players sent home in the first round of the playoffs will still receive a consolation prize of $500. Those who finish between the fifth and the eighth place will receive $750 and also HCT points. Since there won’t be a match for the third place, two players will share the final step of the podium and will get $1100, +10 points. The winner of the Hearthstone Championship Tour Singapore will be awarded 15 points and $3500, while the runner-up will have to settle for 12 HCT points and $2300.
