Hearthstone Esports Expected to Set New Milestones in 2019
The Hearthstone eSports season ended with a bang, as Team China caused a major surprise at BlizzCon, to win the Grand Finals of the Hearthstone Global Games at the expense of Brazil. The tournament was exceptional in terms of both participation and level of competition and a fitting conclusion for the Summer and Fall Championships. More than 200,000 players have participated in the 25 tour stops and throughout 2018 there were plenty of other major events worldwide.
This year, the best players have won a combined amount of $2.8 million and Blizzard Entertainment has high expectations for what 2019 will bring. The company has paid attention to the feedback given by fans and players and made significant changes to the HCT system. Some of these changes were implemented in the final months of the year, but many more are scheduled to follow in the first quarter of 2019.

Hearthstone Esports Format and Points System
The Hearthstone top tier, also known as Premier Play will bring together the best players worldwide. Participants will receive bonuses based on their performance and the best will secure automatic invite patience to the aforementioned live global events. Blizzard has decided that it is time to retire the Conquest format in 2019 and in the upcoming months a brand-new format will be revealed.
Some of the things introduced in 2018 will be maintained, such as the Hearthstone Masters System which rewards the best and most consistent players. Those who have unlocked the corresponding achievements need not to worry because those who have earned Masters status will enjoy better rewards. Players will have three more months to enjoy the transitional season and accumulate more points, until March 31.
