Riot Games collaborates with DJ Porter Robinson to release track for Star Guardian event

Following the upcoming launch of the Star Guardian event in multiple Riot Games titles, the video game developer announced that it has collaborated with American DJ Porter Robinson to release “Everything Goes On” as the anthem for the event. Riot also confirmed that the event video would be released on YouTube and multiple music streaming platforms by July 14, which will also mark the start of the event.

“Everything Goes On” tells the story of two League of Legends Star Guardians and their journey through struggles, meeting new friends, and trying to come to terms with their loss. The Grammy-nominated artist wrote, produced and lent his vocals for the track.

Aside from the track, Riot also has prepared a packed list of awards and new items for players to enjoy. In addition, the Star Guardian event will be released on LoL, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Teamfight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra.

More on Star Guardian

The return of the Star Guardian event this year introduces friendship as its main theme. Players will follow Kai’Sa and Akali with their new Star Guardian crew as the two bonded in the limited-time event. Seraphine and Gwen also will be joining as the new faces in the event. Similar to previous narrative events, players will be given rewards if they manage to build bonds with characters involved in the event.

“Through games of LoL and TFT, players will progress through a compelling story of love and loss, forgiveness and friendship through the eyes of a brand new crew led by Akali and Kai’Sa. At the same time, by completing in-game champion missions, they’ll increase their ‘bond’ with the various Guardians, unlocking rewards and discovering new stories along the way,” Riot described the event in an announcement.

For the LoL fans, the new event will bring quite a number of new skins for Akali, Kai’Sa, Ekko, Sona, Taliyah, Quinn, Rell, as well as Nilah, an upcoming champion. Both Morgana and Fiddlesticks will be getting Star Nemesis skins. While Akali and Kai’Sa each will have their legendary skins alongside a new voiceover.

LoL’s mobile version Wild Rift will also be getting its own narrative experience as the game offers players to experience the event’s campaign. The launch of the Star Guardian event will debut some of the fans’ beloved Star Guardians, such as Orianna, Seraphine, Ahri, Senna, Xayah, Rakan and Miss Fortune.

Prior to announcing the event and collaboration with Robinson, Riot released a DMCA-free-themed album on July 7 titled “Sessions: Star Guardian Taliyah”, which can be very useful for streaming. The gesture continues in skin sales — one hundred percent of sales made from Taliyah Star Guardian skin and her bundles, as well as 20 percent of all proceeds of the event, will be donated to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund, a philanthropic venture fund that provides investment to global organizations to “solving some of the world’s most pressing issues.”

The Star Guardian event is a 10-week-long narrative event that will run from July 14 to August 29.
