The Play-in Phase of the League of Legends World Championship 2018 is finally over and the group stage is about to begin. Those who were eliminated didn’t go home empty-handed and received a prize ranging from $11,000-$16,000. As the group stage begins on October 10, the remaining players will compete for the bigger part of the guaranteed prize pool of $2.2 million. Four teams from Play-in Round 2 have joined the 12 that have secure direct invitation and they are all split into four groups.

During this stage of the competition all the matches are played in a best of one format, with two teams advancing to the knockout stage. Quarterfinals are scheduled for October 20 and October 21, while the semifinals begin one week later. The winning team will be decided on November 3.

A South Korean team is favourite in Group A, with Afreeca being expected to win the first place. In the first day they play against G2 and are given odds of 1/5 by Arcanebet.
