Playoff Preparations Begin in the League of Legends Champions Korea
Last week was a roller coaster of emotions for League of Legends Champions Korea teams and it was marked by the biggest upsets of the season. Griffin have lost both matches after winning all the previous series, but they are still favourites to finish in the 1st place. Jin Air Green Wings were unable to win the 2nd match this season and have officially finished in the last place regardless of what happens this week. The Race is On for Damwon, Kingzone and Hanwha
Hanwha Life are one of the three teams playing for the remaining two playoffs matches, but they have a hard task at hand. They only have eight victories so far and play against Griffin in the opening match on Thursday. ArcaneBet offers odds of 7/2 on them to cause an upset, while the favourites are priced at 1/5. On Sunday, Hanwha take on the second place Sandbox and once again, they are underdogs at odds of 3/2.
Kingzone are in the best position to advance, as they already have 10 victories and only need one win against teams that are out of contention. Rivalry offers identical odds of 3/10 on them to defeat KT Rolster on Thursday and Afreeca Freecs on Sunday in the last match of this week. Damwon are somewhere in between, as they play a single match this week against the leading Griffin. As of 5/2 on them to cause an upset accurately reflect the difference between them and the leaders.
SKT and Sandbox are One Step from the Playoffs
SKT and Sandbox are playing for a place on the podium and are well-positioned to secure a top seed in the playoffs. As stated above, Sandbox will try to crush Hanwha Life’s playoffs hopes on Sunday, while playing the derby against SKT on Friday. The winner is likely to finish in the second place and SKT start with the first chance at odds of 3/5 at Betway, as opposed to 8/5 on Sandbox. SK Telecom only have this game to focus on this week and will try to avenge their defeat suffered at the hands of Sandbox earlier in 2019.
Afreeca, Gen.G and KT Rolster are Officially Out
KT Rolster are out of the playoffs picture, but they will try not to finish second to last. They should be able to pick a victory against Jin Air Green Wings on Saturday, as they get odds of 1/5 at Pinnacle. In the match discussed above against Kingzone, punters who bet on their victory would be paid at 23/10. Gen.G and Afreeca Freecs play in a match that can simply decide who finishes in the seventh place. The stakes are not particularly high, but Afreeca Freecs will try to confirm their favourite status at odds of 13/20.
