Ibai tops xQc as most-watched Twitch streamer with 21.7 million hours
Ibai “Ibai” Llanos has broken Twitch viewership records with Night of the Year 2, taking the viewership top spot from Felix “xQc” Lengyel, who remains second in the stats.
“Congrats to @IbaiLlanos on setting a new Twitch record with a peak of over 3.3M concurrent views during today’s boxing and entertainment event, La Velada del Año II,” Twitch wrote on Twitter.
The biggest Twitch streamers compete to gain the most viewers each month. Over the last few years, xQc has consistently achieved the top position on the platform, proving time and time again that he is a dominant force. Spanish sensation Ibai overtook xQc as the most-watched Twitch streamer with 21.7 million hours watched compared to 20.8 million hours that xQc had in June 2022.
The streamer with the most-watched hours in May was Brazilian Alexandre “Gaules” Borba, who rounded out the podium with 12.9 million hours watched.
Ibai got famous on Twitch by talking about esports. He has also interviewed some of Spain’s best soccer players like Gerard Piqué, Andrés Iniesta, Ronaldinho, Sergio Agüero, and Sergio Ramos on his streams.
A big reason for Ibai’s success in June is that he held a big, special event called LA VELADA DEL AÑO II (Night of the Year 2). It was watched by millions of people on Twitch, pushing him up in the rankings. Over 3.3 million people watched the event at the same time, giving Ibai’s channel the world record for the most people watching at the same time on Twitch.
In Night of the Year 2, popular content creators boxed against each other in a live event. Each contestant got professional boxing training and coaching, which they showed off on the big stage in front of a lot of people.
Dramatic things happened at the event that got everyone’s attention, like when El Rubius challenged xQc to a fight from the main stage during an interview. xQc has responded to the challenge, and since he said he would be willing to put money on the line, it looks like a fight might actually happen this time.
Aside from that, Ibai is a very popular Spanish streamer who mostly shows content from popular games. This includes games like Just Chatting, Fall Guys, League of Legends, and Minecraft. He is well-known among people who speak Spanish, and, no matter what, he always ranks in the top 10.
Still, it is not clear if Ibai can keep it up until July. Ibai has nothing big planned like Night of the Year 2 this month, so xQc might finally get back to the top of the rankings.
Outside of the top three, Spanish streamer Raúl Álvarez “auronplay” Genes passed Zack “Asmongold” to move into fourth place, and Japanese variety streamer Chikara “SHAKA” Kawakami saw the most growth among the top 10 with a 64.8 percent rise in viewers.
