LCK Summer 2022 Week 7, Day 2 highlights

The 2022 League of Legends Champions Korea summer season has finished Day 2 of Week 7. Below are key takeaways from LCK Summer 2022 Week 7, Day 2. Previously on Day 1, league leader T1 defeated KT Rolster, and third-place DWG KIA claimed the win over last-place Hanwha Life Esports.

Without further ado, here are some highlights from Day 2.

NS defeats LSB

Nongshim RedForce defeated the fourth-place Liiv SANDBOX squad. NS has performed poorly throughout the season, recording only 2-19 despite having a veteran player on their side.

Their Game 1 was not that smooth either. NS took control of the game after a clutch team fight at the fourth dragon after going back and forth. The team then claimed the first prevented the enemy from stealing the second. They came out victorious 1-0.

NS continued their brilliance into Game 2, securing an early game lead via the first blood. The first big team fight of the game occurred near the first Rift Herald, where LSB showed their worth. Mid-laner Lee “Clozer” Ju-Hyeon claimed a double-kill on Sylas and evened up their gold.

Nevertheless, NS continued to lead the game until they lost a 29-minute baron fight thanks to LSB bot-laner Lee “Prince” Chae-Hwan, who secured the Baron. He massacred the rest of NS with a triple kill before taking down the nexus, forcing a Game 3.

NS quickly took the early lead again in the decider. NS mid-laner Gwak “Bdd” Bo-Seong claimed a triple kill near the second dragon, allowing NS to pile up their gold top 5k in only 15 minutes. NS then claimed the win.

Gen.G tames DRX

Other than the losses to league leader T1, Gen.G has only lost one game this season. Their record is now 23-3 after subduing DRX, whose performance has been declining as the tournament runs.

Gen.G claimed an early Game 1 lead. They recorded a 3k gold lead in only 11 minutes. All members of Gen.G had a CS advantage over DRX, killing them in every lane. At the 18-minute mark, Gen.G widened their gold gap to Gen.G. Team fights started to break out after the 20-minute mark, and Gen.G won them all. They defeated the opponents with the power of dragon soul, Baron, and a 10k gold lead.

Gen.G also took control of Game 2 despite DRX showing a little more fight in the early game. Nevertheless, Gen.G claimed another in the early game only five minutes into the game. The lead was made possible by bot-laner Park “Ruler” Jae-Hyuk, who converted a losing two versus two bot lane skirmish into a double-kill. At the 14-minute mark, Gen.G was up 8k gold. They furthered the lead to 12k by the 20-minute mark. Gen.G then claimed another win.
