Skyesports, one of the leading esports tournament organizers in India, has announced its second season of Skyesports Grand Slam, with a total prize pool of $40,000.

“Kicking off 2022 in Grand style! Presenting AMD Skyesports Grandslam with two top titles and a grand prize pool of $40,000! Gear up both BGMI and VALORANT players, this OPEN-to-all tournament is right around the corner!” read the announcement on Skyesports Twitter handle.

The tournament will have two titles, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and VALORANT. The complete championship will be broadcasted on Youtube and Loco, with AMD as their broadcasting partner.

“The 2022 Asian Games are coming up and we are continuing our commitment to provide a platform for underdogs and top teams alike to hone their skills,” said Shiva Nandy, the CEO of Skyesports.

Skyesports houses multiple esports events every year, such as WD Black Cup, Skyesports Championship 3.0, Grandslam, League, Elite Club, Skirmish Series, Invitational Scrims, and Gaming Series.

Founded in November 2018, the organization has continuously provided pros and teams competitive means, reaching 10 million gamers and 65 million viewership in 20 months. Multiple games have been featured since its establishment, including DOTA2, FIFA20, PUBG Mobile, VALORANT, and BGMI.

Finals and familiar faces

Aside from teams who can join through registrations, Skyesports also invites six teams that will join the finals. The chosen teams are based on their performance in past events, including the top two teams of the first Grand Slam, Skyesports Championship 3.0, and the Skyesports Mobile Open.

The two teams from Skyesports Grand Slam 2020 are Velocity Gaming and SOUL. Meanwhile, Godlike and 7Sea Esports were the top two of Skyesports Championship 3.0. Last but not least, the two leading teams from Skyeports Mobile Open are TSM and Chemin Esports.

Apart from the aforementioned events, GodLike Esports, TSM FTX, and 7Sea Esports have also been performing consistently in other events. Currently, they are the top contenders for the ongoing Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (MGIS) 2021.

Although Chemin Esports, Velocity Gaming, and Team SouL are a tad behind in BGIS, they are currently rebuilding themselves. The tournament will be utilized as an opportunity to prove themselves before the next major BGMI tournament.

The tournament is available for all players. Those who are interested can register by visiting the official Skyeports website. In the tournament, teams can battle their way up to the top through multiple rounds of competition.

Qualifying teams who made their way up to the grand finals, even the amateur teams, can have the chance to face the invites rosters.

Registrations are open from January 15th. Although there are no exact dates yet, fans and pros can wait for further information by following Skyesports official social media accounts, from Twitter, Instagram, to LinkedIn.
